Ureki is the unique climatic health resort on the picturesque shore of the Black Sea in Georgia, which is famous for its beaches with magnetic sand and to which there is no analogue in the world. Ureki is situated 60 kilometers north from Batumi and 10 kilometers south from Poti. 
The universality of the resort is conditioned by the presence of the natural low intensity magnetic field. The health-improvement properties of magnetic field have been known since the ancient times and were used by Egyptians, Greeks and Indian Yogis for treatment of different diseases. 
Nowadays the artificially created magnetic fields are widely used as the physiotherapeutic method with the name of “magnetotherapy”. The scientists of different countries proved the positive influence of the magnetic field upon man’s organism. The chemical processes are changed by magnetic field, which effects on the hydrogen concentration, coagulation and on other biological processes. Magnetic field causes anti-inflammation and painkiller effects, stimulation of regenerating tissues, and the most important effect is that the immunity of organism increases, the number of severe diseases is decreased and it contributes to an increase of people’s lifetime.
The magnetic sand of Ureki has been known since 19 century. Its basic components are magnetite, titan-magnetite, ilmenite, pyroxene, quartz, granite, apatite, zircon and others. Magnetic fraction of sand is 23%, and total quantity of iron varies from 37 to 48 %, the magnetic perception of sand is 13-25 items more than ordinary sand. All these create basis for natural magnetic field of small intensity. The first pioneers who experienced the majestic characters of sand were the local inhabitants, who were cured from many chronic diseases. Afterwards the medical staff, research institutes and the society became interested in the traits of Ureki sand and proved the high efficiency of the use of treatment factors on the following diseases:
Heart and blood vessel diseases (hypertension I - II stage), chronic ischemia heart disease, cardiosclerosis, micro-cardiosclerosis, obliteration of the vessels lower extremity; 
Rheumatic and contagious chronic polyarthritis, osteoartrozis, osteoporosis, osteocondromas and the post-traumatic rehabilitation; 
Nervous diseases (neurosis, climacteric neurosis, neuralgia, cerebral paralysis) 
Children diseases (cerebral paralysis, spinal paralysis, monoplegias, hemiplegias, rachitis); 
Temporary and secondary female sterility methods of treatment.
